The six-word memoir meme
I am not a frequent blogger but I blame that on my job and the million other expectations that come with it.
I like that I am allowed to satisfy my curious side and yet at the same time it demands that I remain objective and give due consideration to everything.
So since I have been tagged by hydeparkblues, on a six-word memoir meme and after thinking about it for a while, I have come up with: Don’t worry, I won’t bite you.
This has been prompted by an incident which occurred a few days back.
I was taking the lift back to my floor in the building, having just come straight home from the office.
I could claim transport expenses for that particular trip, so I took a cab straight back home.
I entered the lift with another lady who appeared to be returning home from work as well.
She took swift glances at me, and seemed to be studying my appearance and when her eyes alighted at my waist area, they widened.
She seemed to visibly step back until she was up against the lift wall. She was also giving really strange vibes.
I was puzzled by her behaviour but decided to let it pass and alighted at my floor.
It was only when I reached home and realized that my company ID card was still attached to the waist band of my skirt, that it occurred to me why she was acting so funny.
My company ID card is necessary because we need it to get into the building, as well as our various offices and floors.
It is the company’s way of maintaining a maximum security prison environment.
But it also has information pertaining to the department I work in, as well as the company name and logo in big letters.
It was just one of those ‘oh crap’ moments.
Which is why I have to say that in spite of my job, I really don’t bite.
On a side note, the otaku* in me has been throughly obsessed with this manga and anime series called ‘Vampire Knight’.
And it seems like the theme song is my current ear worm, with it being on repeat on my playlist.
Hmmm…got to love this series about bloodsucking teenagers.
*otaku is Japanese for nerd. ![]()
